Akanksha-PreGraduation

-Few dreams remain dreams...Mechanical Engineering

Hmmm...So finally its results time...I mean Grad exams result.Akanksha sincerely prepared for the exams (Well!!! She started her preparations three days prior to exams...So typical ;) ) And she had masti time after exams. Finally the DDAY came and she just shut herself in her room. Not because she was scared of results but because she didnt like to be frowned upon for her "no reaction" wala face. Her mom had high expectations and her dad was excited. But more than her mom and dad,the entire relatives were waiting.Call were flowing in like anything. Her rank is out!!! Her mom is a tad disappointed. Her dad shocked ;) ( that's what he says whenever she fares well ).Her relatives all became critics. And she was damn happy coz now she can join her favourite branch of engineering..Mechanical Engineering. She had not a single idea of how engineering will be and the best part was that she didnt even know that there will be someone called dean and you will have so many assignments. All she knew was Aeronautical Engineering. And since she was about to join through government seat, all she can do was,go for mechanical and after graduation she can do her post-grad in aeronautical. And her dad supported her though everyone else was trying to convine her that its not a great idea. And unfortunately or fortunately came the change. The counselling which was previously one on one became web counselling wherein students have to enter nearly 40 options of their choice and seats will be allocated based on whether the first option available. And another vital change which really affected her -Demand grew for mechanical engineering. So,Akanksha and her father together choose top 12 mechanical engineering colleges in which she had chances of getting in and the remaining options were filled by her brother. And she was all gung-ho about the first option getting allocated. And as they say fate has its own plans.Akanksha was allocated the 17 option.Just Imagine the girls anguish!!!And that was not mechanical engineering.Damn!! Her dad didnt like it either coz that option needs her to stay away from home. That college was not in her hometown.Hmm then another thing was going on in her dad's head.He was not financially capable of paying the fee structure of the college she was supposed to join. And he couldnt tell Akanksha that.So he asked her so many times and discussed with her whether she would join some other college in the town as all the colleges were ready to accept her without any fee.Yes!!It was considered a good rank. But Akanksha didnt understand why he was asking her to choose some other college. She already fixated her mind on joining hostel. So she became arrogant and told him rudely that she would only join that college and she's ok with that branch. So it was all settled that she will join the college.

It was a age where arrogance plays.Yet after few years Akanksha couldnt quite forgive herself for being so insensible.Hats off to all the parents who bear such arrogance and deal with it and still shower love without holding anything back.May be thats why they call parenting such a tough job!!:)
